Zesters are generally not recommended for the dishwasher.
Why
Most zesters have fine cutting edges that can dull in the dishwasher due to high heat and harsh detergents. Additionally, if the handle is made of wood or has a coating, it may warp or degrade. Stainless steel zesters may survive but hand washing is still preferred to maintain sharpness.
How to wash it
Hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can damage the cutting edges.
