Why
Terracotta is a porous, unglazed or minimally glazed clay that absorbs water and can crack or craze in the high heat and moisture of a dishwasher. The harsh detergents can also damage the surface and cause discoloration.
How to wash it
Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking for long periods to prevent water absorption.
