Why
Most takeout containers are made of thin plastic, paper, or foam, which can warp, melt, or disintegrate in the high heat of a dishwasher. Even some plastic containers labeled as microwave-safe may not withstand the intense heat and water pressure of a dishwasher cycle.
How to wash it
Hand wash with mild soap and cool water, then air dry. Avoid reusing containers that show signs of wear or damage.
