Santoku knives are not dishwasher safe.
Why
The high heat and harsh detergents in dishwashers can damage the blade's edge and handle material, and cause rust or corrosion on the blade. Even high-carbon stainless steel blades can be negatively affected over time.
How to wash it
Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry immediately with a soft cloth. Store in a knife block or on a magnetic strip to protect the edge.
