Sandwich maker plates are generally not recommended for the dishwasher, but some models may be dishwasher safe.
Why
Most sandwich maker plates have a non-stick coating that can be damaged by harsh dishwasher detergents and high heat. Additionally, the plates are often attached to the appliance with electrical components that should not get wet. However, some newer models have removable plates that are labeled dishwasher safe.
How to wash it
Hand wash with a soft sponge and mild dish soap in warm water. Dry thoroughly before reattaching to the appliance.
