Why
Silicone pastry brushes are generally dishwasher safe, but brushes with natural bristles (e.g., boar hair) or wooden handles can be damaged by high heat and moisture, causing bristle shedding or handle cracking. Many manufacturers recommend hand washing to prolong the brush's life.
How to wash it
For silicone brushes, place on the top rack of the dishwasher. For natural bristle or wooden brushes, hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then air dry thoroughly.
