Is Panini Press Plates dishwasher safe?

Panini press plates are generally not recommended for the dishwasher, but some models may be dishwasher safe.
Why
Most panini press plates have a non-stick coating that can be damaged by high heat and harsh detergents in the dishwasher. Additionally, the plates are often made of cast aluminum or steel with electrical components that should not be submerged. However, some manufacturers design removable plates that are dishwasher safe.
How to wash it
Check the manufacturer's instructions. If removable and labeled dishwasher safe, place on the top rack. Otherwise, hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, then dry thoroughly.
