Grill pans are generally not recommended for the dishwasher.
Why
Most grill pans are made of cast iron or have a nonstick coating, both of which can be damaged by harsh dishwasher detergents and high heat. Cast iron will rust and lose its seasoning, while nonstick coatings may peel or degrade.
How to wash it
Hand wash with mild soap and a soft sponge, then dry immediately. For cast iron, avoid soap and instead scrub with salt and oil, then re-season as needed.
