Why
Most George Foreman grill plates have a nonstick coating that can be damaged by high heat and harsh detergents in dishwashers. While some newer models claim dishwasher-safe parts, hand washing is strongly advised to preserve the nonstick surface.
How to wash it
Wash by hand with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and never use cooking sprays, which can degrade the coating.
