Espresso portafilters are generally not recommended for the dishwasher, but some stainless steel models may be safe.
Why
Most portafilters are made of chrome-plated brass or aluminum, which can corrode or discolor in the dishwasher. High-quality stainless steel portafilters are more resistant but may still be damaged by harsh detergents. The plastic handle can also degrade over time.
How to wash it
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to protect the finish.
