Why
Enamel is a glass coating fused to metal. The harsh detergents and high heat in dishwashers can dull the enamel's shine, cause chipping, or lead to discoloration over time. Even if a manufacturer claims it is dishwasher safe, hand washing is gentler and extends the life of the cookware.
How to wash it
Hand wash with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and sudden temperature changes to prevent cracking.
